Inspired by PBS's crowning of To Kill a Mockingbird as the "Great American Read," we wanted to figure out what book indie booksellers across the country most enjoy putting in their customers' hands.
In the month of November, hundreds of booksellers nominated their favorite titles to recommend. Out of nearly 350 different titles nominated, thirty-two were nominated by multiple booksellers and were included as finalists. In the month of December, booksellers voted on their favorite title to recommend, ultimately determining the Great American Handsell.
